One of AFMG´s core competencies is in the field of acoustical simulation, such as the accurate simulation of line array performance. Our innovative developments include AFMG’s FIRmaker technology and subwoofer array modeling using EASE Focus.

This expertise is frequently requested throughout the industry when companies develop new solutions or products for sound reinforcement applications. For example, recently AFMG became involved in the latest release of IMMI – the well-known environmental noise prediction software by Wölfel Engineering GmbH + Co. KG.

Noise pollution considerations are increasingly gaining importance in the planning of open air events. Until now, typical software tools supported only simple point sources in the modelling of outdoor noise propagation. This limitation led to a growing demand to describe and include more complex sound systems such as line arrays. Only when this is done can compliance with the requirements of the particular application be ensured.

AFMG’s software solutions have already proven to work very well, using detailed loudspeaker definitions as provided by manufacturers or independent labs. Specifically, EASE SpeakerLab Pro facilitates data export of simulated directivity characteristics for modern sound systems. These computation results can be saved in XHN format in order to be used for acoustic noise predictions by other software.

Noise immission mapping by IMMI 2017 for a design based on line array models simulated in EASE SpeakerLab

Launched this fall, IMMI 2017 added an essential new feature allowing the import of XHN-files. This enables consultants and sound engineers to utilize the results of AFMG´s highly advanced line array simulation within IMMI. Thereby their noise distribution analyses can take advantage of the entire EASE® loudspeaker database – with over 3,000 models from more than 100 manufacturers.

As a result, IMMI is now capable of making more precise predictions about the expected noise impact levels. These calculations create a reliable basis for the approval process and for practical implementation. Technicians on site can be confident that their setups actually conform to applicable regulations as well as to the requirements given by local authorities.

This first implementation represents a significant starting point for future developments in the field. AFMG is pleased to have supported this effort and is looking forward to further projects of this kind.

AFMG Releases EASE Focus v3.1 and New GLL Plug-In API

2017-09-28 14:00

EASE Focus v3.1 and the new GLL Plug-In API.

Since the beginning of September a new version of EASE Focus is available for download on our website.

Besides a few minor improvements and numerous bug fixes throughout the program, version 3.1 also provides the ability to integrate plug-ins using the new GLL Plug-In API.

Through GLL Plug-Ins your preferred loudspeaker manufacturer can provide direct access to the sophisticated features of their line arrays and loudspeakers via EASE Focus.

Plug-Ins created with the GLL Plug-In API can model many product-specific functions and provide additional information or configuration options. It is now possible to incorporate safety calculation routines, that help you to design safe array setups. Besides that plug-ins can implement proprietary aiming algorithms and methods. Packing lists can be generated and system EQ settings can be selected as well as many other extensions can be realized.

More information about the potential features that can be added by your manufacturer through the GLL Plug-In API and implementation details can be found on the GLL Plug-In API website.

Focus Your Sub Arrays! - New Features of EASE® Focus 3

Focus Your Sub Arrays! – over the last couple of months this topic has received great interest from sound technicians, system designers, and loudspeaker engineers worldwide.

In the process, we shared a lot of experience and knowledge with the audio community which we would like to continue and extend:

AFMG® welcomes you at InfoComm 2017, June 14-16 in Orlando, Florida!

AFMG Team at InfoComm 2016

At this tradeshow we would like to exchange ideas with you, learn more about your workflows, and hear your thoughts about using our software. We are working continuously on the improvement of our products, including our flagship solution EASE® for room acoustic simulation, our measurement software AFMG SysTune, and EASE Focus for the design of line array setups.

The latest edition of EASE Focus, version 3, enables you to use preconfigured sub arrays or create your own subwoofer arrangements tailored to the application. Tools like the automatic calculation of delays or the simulated interaction of subs with flown systems make your job easier. This and more can be found in our much appreciated crash course presentation „Focus Your Sub Arrays!

Please stop by, have a look at sub arrays in EASE Focus 3 and share your experiences. Take the chance to contribute to the next generation of our products!

AFMG® Moves to New Office

2017-05-09 10:00

We are pleased to announce that AFMG has moved to a new, larger office.

After an exciting construction phase and timely delivery, AFMG has moved to the new space in the last week of April. We are happy that the change was largely unnoticeable for our customers. In less than a day all teams, equipment and servers were up and running again.

AFMG's new office just before the move.

The new rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art network, modern communication systems and comfortable acoustics. Pleasant views, more meeting opportunities and very open offices give our staff members working places of high quality. With enough room to grow, the new office will allow AFMG to better attend to an increasingly sophisticated and demanding market.

AFMG is proud to have taken this big step forward and to start one more chapter of its continuing story of success.

We will be glad to welcome our customers, friends and partners to our new location:

AFMG Appoints New Distribution Partners in Japan and Brazil

2017-02-01 17:00

Joji Kuriyama - head of J.TESORIIn January 2017, AFMG’s worldwide distributor network was expanded by two new partners in Japan and Brazil. Distribution partners of AFMG are recognized professionals in their markets and do not only provide local sales assistance but also technical support and training opportunities.

In Japan AFMG’s efforts are now headed by Tokyo-based J.TESORI and their director Joji Kuriyama. Kuriyama-san has been a pioneer in the development of professional digital audio systems. For many years he worked for major audio companies as a technical advisor and general manager. In December 2016, J.TESORI already held an introductory presentation in Tokyo which will soon be followed by seminars teaching AFMG products in Japanese.

Aldo Soares (left) and Joel Brito (right)

AFMG customers in Brazil will be supported by industry professionals Joel Brito and Aldo Soares. Mr Soares is the director of ARS, a well-known acoustic consultancy company based in Brasilia, who will handle all sales inquiries. As a very active member and past president of AES Brazil, Mr Brito brings in-depth theoretical background on AFMG’s products. Their first EASE® training is planned for July 2017.

AFMG managing director Stefan Feistel comments: “We are really excited to team up with these two forward-thinking companies who are leading in their respective markets. Our customers in Japan and in Brazil will be able to receive local support and trainings in their language and during their business hours. This is just one more great example of AFMG’s continuing success in developing its global network of partners and distributors.”
