AFMG Newsletter - Issue 25, June 2014

Dear customers, colleagues, and friends,

Welcome to a new issue of the AFMG Newsletter. With this newsletter we would like to inform you about new products, software updates, trainings, and interesting downloads related to our products.

InfoComm 2014 EASE & SysTune Training Classes

The traditional InfoComm EASE Training will take place on Sunday and Monday, June 15th and 16th during the InfoComm Conference preceding the exhibition. Many high-profile attendees have registered and we are, again, expecting two days filled with lots of information and interesting questions.
Upon popular demand, we will be offering a 1-day class for SysTune, AFMG’s professional sound system measurement program this year. The SysTune Class will be held on Wednesday morning, June 18th, the first day of the exhibition.
Of course, you will also find us on the show floor. Come and have a look at our software, find out what’s new, get answers to your questions or simply have a talk.

AFMG Proudly Announces AFMG Services North America, LLC.

After several years of preparations, we are happy to officially announce the formation of our first US-based office! From now on, AFMG Services North America, LLC. will provide support and services to all our customers based in the United States and Canada.

Headed by President and Founder Bruce C. Olson, the AFMG NA team includes Charlie Hughes and Ana Jaramillo. Mr. Olson is known as an active member of the acoustics and pro-audio community for many years. Taking on responsible positions within the AES and ASA, he is always in touch with the newest developments and has provided countless AFMG software trainings for acoustic consultants, manufacturers, and audio contractors. Bruce’s invaluable knowledge and over 20 years of involvement with AFMG make him the number-one expert for AFMG programs on the American continent.
Charlie Hughes, who joined the AFMG support team already in 2010, is located in North Carolina. With his over 25-year experience in the professional audio industry, Charlie is the authority for loudspeaker system design and assessment of quality loudspeaker data for GLL files, AFMG’s award-winning loudspeaker file format. He is also a much respected expert for AFMG’s measurement programs SysTune and EASERA. In addition to general software classes, he provides manufacturer trainings for EASE SpeakerLab. Charlie, too, is a member of the AES, CEA Standards Groups, and other institutions.
In the Minnesota office, Bruce is supported by Ana Maria Jaramillo. Ana has graduated from Virginia Tech with a PhD in architectural acoustics in 2013 before she joined AFMG. Her broad teaching experience as a professor at two universities in her native Colombia and her focus on room acoustics make Ana the ideal expansion to the team that, so far, was dominated by an electro-acoustic background. Ana’s communication skills, fluent English and Spanish, and her organizational talent make her the preferred contact for customers both in North and South America.

Review ProLight + Sound and 136th AES Convention, 2014

Since our last newsletter, AFMG has been exhibiting at two fairs to connect with our customers. In March, we had our regular appearance at the ProLight + Sound in Frankfurt. Having kept track of the evolution this show is undergoing for several years, AFMG is very happy with the changes we see. The pro-audio industry accepts the ProLight + Sound more and more as a B2B show which, for AFMG, is highly interesting. For the third year in a row, we have seen a significant increase in the number of visitors to our booth with the additional benefit that all talks have been of high relevance.

It has become a tradition that AFMG is joined by one of our international partners during the PLS show. This year, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Didier Weiss from Sound Wizard, India to our team.
Thanks a lot for your superb support and the good time, Didier!
AFMG has made a surprise appearance at the AES Convention held from April 26 – 29, 2014. The four days at the show have allowed ample time for in-depth talks with a large number of visitors from professions not yet using our products. – This aspect has made the show a special success, opening new markets for AFMG.

New Software Releases and Updates

EASE Version 4.4 – Major Enhancements
Released at this year’s ProLight+Sound show, version 4.4 brings many significant enhancements for EASE users. A fully revised InfraRed module, twice the speed for AURA calculations, expanded support for import of DXF and SKP files, and many more smaller additions.
SysTune 1.3 – Integration with Lake and d&b
The new version for SysTune has been available since March, 2014. Integration with the Lake Controller platform, export of Virtual EQ filters to d&b R1 controllers, selecting from multiple networks with SysTune’s unique Web Interface remote control, and many underlying software enhancements make up this release.
EASE Focus 2.5 – FIRmaker now Available
With the huge success our FIRmaker optimization technology has celebrated after its presentation in 2013, EASE Focus 2.5 now is the first program to officially integrate the technology. Customers of FIRmaker enabled brands can now optimize their line arrays and calculate FIR filters exactly tailored to the venue and the system in use.
EASE Focus itself has also undergone a long list of additions and enhancements. As usual, the software remains free of charge to the end user and is available for download from our website together with the full loudspeaker database.
EASE Evac 1.1.4 – Database Import Updated
Released May 16, 2014, version 1.1.4 of EASE Evac settles the issues with bulk-importing the full loudspeaker database into the program. Users can now download and install the full database from our website flawlessly and without effort.
