Feature Comparison EASE 5-FE vs. EASE 4

During a transition phase, AFMG is offering two versions of EASE. Both tools can be employed for all kinds of design projects. However, their feature sets are different to some extent.

  • EASE 5 First Edition represents AFMG’s new platform for acoustic simulation. Based on modern software development principles, it combines high usability with a quickly growing feature set.
  • EASE 4.4 represents the predecessor software that has been expanded over many years. It supports a number of specific functions that may be required by experienced users.

EASE 5-FE has many new and innovative features that EASE 4.4 is lacking. These are highlighted below. Looking from the perspective of EASE 4.4, most notably EASE 5-FE does not yet support internal filter configurations for loudspeakers and line arrays. It is also missing the ability to assign specific scattering characteristics to individual surfaces. These functions will be added to EASE 5-FE over the course of the next upgrades.

The following table gives an overview of the most prominent differences in the feature sets of EASE 5-FE and EASE 4. Please note that for the sake of clarity and brevity not all features and differences are stated.
